- What are the subscription rates?
MatchWise registration, searching, waving and limited email
communications are free for as long as you wish.
Membership is totally free. There is no fee to join Matchwise or to communicate with any of our members.

- What
happens when I make my profile "Invisible"?
When you click the "Invisible" button under your
photo your profile no longer shows up
in any search or gallery of photos. However, the people
in your Favorites file and those who have you in their Favorites
will still be able to see your profile and communicate with
you by email.

can I upload a photo?

edit photo screen and see your photo uploading options.

How do you verify identities and block scammers?
We verify identities with
a valid e-mail address and IP (computer address) checking.
This prevents our members from exposure to others
who would create duplicate or false online identities. All
foreign IP's and a large number of IP on our blocked list
are not allowed to register. We cooperate with sharing blocked
lists with other similar sites to prevent troublemakers and scammers
from joining MatchWise.
- How
do I change my account, edit my profile, screen name or password?
Each section of member information
has an EDIT button. Go to the Edit Profile
page (you must be logged in) to change your information at
any time. If you wish to change your screen name, please contact
Member Care.
- Can
I have more than one account?
Members are only allowed one
account.
- How
can I deactivate my profile?
You can make your profile invisible by clicking the "invisible" selection under the photo. Or to cancel your membership,
click here.

- What
are the age requirements?
Our members must be 18 years
or older to use this site. On the other end of the age spectrum,
we set no limits.
- How
can I adjust the frequency of "You've Got Mail" notifications?
On the bottom of the MAIL
page you can adjust the "You've Got Mail"
Setting from "as they come" to "daily"
to "weekly." If you wish to get no notifications,
uncheck the box to the left of "Forward..."
- How
can I stop or change the address "Weekly Picks" are sent to?
On the bottom of the MAIL
page you can adjust the "Weekly Picks" settings.
If you wish to get no such notifications, uncheck the box on the left.
- I
uploaded a new photo. Why doesn't it show up?
If the old photo won't go away (or the "Pending Approval"
message won't go away), it is because of your browser cache.
Photos are sometimes kept in your cache and pulled in automatically
from your hard drive rather than being downloaded each time.
To determine if there is an update of any photo you can
simultaneously press CTRL F5 (Windows) to reload all images on the page
and rewrite the cache. Or, you can clear your full cache
if you know how (sometimes referred to as "temporary
internet files" or "offline content.") In
Internet Explorer 6.0, go to TOOLS-->INTERNET OPTIONS-->In
the Temporary Internet Files section click "Delete
Files" then "Delete All Offline Content."
If you uploaded a photo nothing shows, it may be because
we haven't yet reviewed your photo (if you uploaded it within
the past 24-48 hours), or your photo didn't meet our photo
guidelines for quality or other reasons (see our photo policy).
If you know that it uploaded and you are reasonably certain
it was good enough quality (and no other people in the photo)
and would meet our photo guidelines, yet it is missing,
please let us know.
- How
do I communicate with another member?
Simply use the "E-mail" button found on each member profile. You will e-mail using your MatchWise screen name only, which ensures your identity is not revealed.

You may be notified by e-mail
regarding your account information, the status of your membership,
or if you have mail in your MatchWise mailbox.
- What
are "My Favorites"?
Members can add profiles they
like to their list of favorites. Simply click the “My
Favorites” button to review or delete member profiles
on your list.

Members will appear
periodically in our Member Spotlight section.
- Photos
and photo policy
Members may easily upload photos from their computer. Did
you know that if you post a photo with your profile on MatchWise
you will be seen 15 times more often than if you don't?
If you want to be noticed and get the most out of your membership,
add a good face shot of yourself. Photos of an explicit
nature are prohibited and may cause cancellation of your
account.
- What if I think someone is scamming me?
Read the information about scams
here. Be sure to report ANYONE who asks
you for money, who is too pushy, or otherwise raises questions or doubts in your mind. Alllow us to check out this person and see what he or she is saying to other members.

We take the clean content of
our site seriously. We will immediately respond to reports
of sleaze or abuse of our policies by suspending the membership
of anyone we determine to be using MatchWise.com inappropriately.

- What
is considered email abuse?
Inappropriate personal sexual
language or content, questions about your finances or requests for money,
sharing information about their website, advertisements, pseudo
identities, false pretenses, a married person, explicit language of any kind, fraud, extortion, blackmail, stalking, threats, any illegal or criminal activity. Contact MatchWise Member
Care immediately.
- How
can I put my profile on hold?
Members are allowed to
remove their profile from view for a time. When a member removes
his or her profile from the view of others (make "invisible"),
his or her membership continues, and the member may use all
of the site features. His or her profile will simply not be
available to be seen by others. Change this setting under
your photo on the Member Console
Page.
- Can
I transfer my membership?
You may transfer your membership
to a different physical, mailing, or e-mail address by simply
using the “Edit” button on your profile information
in the "My Account"
screen. Your profile matches your personality and characteristics,
so you may not transfer your membership to another individual.
- Should
I give another MatchWise member my address?
Our system protects address
and contact information for your safety. If you get to know
another member and feel safe doing so, you’ll have to
decide for yourself whether or not to divulge your address
or other contact information. PLEASE do not do so if you have had just a couple casual contacts with the person. Wait until you are ready to see this person, because if you divulge either your external email or your telephone number, in most cases they can find your home address. That is why we have a secure, anonymous email system in MatchWise. It is untraceable.
- What
can I do as a Member?
With your free membership you get a Personality Profile plus the ability to search, update your profile, add photos, wave and email other members.
- Why
don't you accept foreigners?
MatchWise was designed to be
a service for Americans. We have nothing against foreigners
and perhaps will one day have separate sites for other major
countries, but we intend to limit this particular site to
U.S. citizens only.
- I
previously canceled but now wish to join again. Do I have to register
again?
Usually not. We keep old profiles
in an inactive status in case you wish to rejoin (a number
of people do!). Just send us a message to let us know that
you'd like to revive your profile.
- Can
I include an email address or telephone number in a MatchWise
email?
Yes. We do not block that kind
of information, though we do filter inappropriate words (cussing,
sexual words, threats etc.). Keep in mind that we also spot-check emails and we have flagging systems to ensure that nothing
inappropriate is transpiring through our email system. Our
warnings against inserting email and/or telephone information
in your internal messages are simply for your safety. In many
cases a person's physical address can be tracked down once
the email address or telephone number is known. Our main concern
is for your safety. If you reveal your identity or contact information you are taking a risk that MatchWise is designed to avoid.
- How
is MatchWise supported?
MatchWise is a for-profit company supported by advertisers on the website. It has no other source of revenue, nor is it a part of a major ministry or church.
- If
I am separated from my spouse, can I become a member?
MatchWise is for singles only.
A "single" person is defined as someone who is not
legally married. Since a person separated from a spouse is
still married until the divorce is finalized, we would not
welcome that person as a member, nor would want in any way
to encourage the finalization of a divorce if there is any
chance for reconciliation with that person's spouse.

are the spiritual beliefs of the management of MatchWise?
Our Statement of Faith is As Follows:
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons:
Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Matt.28:19; II
Corinthians 13:14)
We believe that the Bible in its entirety is the Holy,
infallible Word of God; that it is and ever shall be the
complete and final revelation of the will of God to man,
and the final authority in all spiritual matters. (II
Tim.3:16)
We believe that Jesus Christ is God, the Son. We believe
that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin
Mary, lived a sinless life, and by His voluntary sacrificial
death on Calvary and by His bodily and visible resurrection
from the dead, paid the penalty of sin and purchased eternal
life for all. (Micah 5:2; Matt.1:20,21,25; John
19:17-19; 20:16,17)
We believe that God created the universe and that it was
perfect; that man was created in the image of God, but fell
into sin; that all men are sinners by nature and under God's
condemnation. (Gen.1:1,2,27; Romans 5:18a)
We believe that salvation is the gift of God, by grace
through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose blood was
shed for the forgiveness of our sins; that this salvation
is the possession of those who by faith accept Christ as
their personal Savior. We believe that there is no other
way of salvation. (John 3:16; 16:7-11; Rom.10:13;
Eph.2:5,8)
We believe that the Holy Spirit, who is a Person of the
Trinity, convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and
of judgment, and that it is by His power that the born-again
Christian is enabled to live the Christian life. (Matthew
28:18,19; Romans 8:1,14)
We believe that Jesus Christ ascended to the right hand
of the Father, where He is interceding for each believer;
that He will bodily and visibly return again.
We believe that God has appointed a day in which He will
judge the world in righteousness by Jesus; that those who
trust in the Lord Jesus Christ shall dwell eternally with
Him, and that those who refuse His offer of salvation shall
eternally be cast into the Lake of Fire. (John 14:1-3;
Romans 6:23; Revelations 21:8)
We do not demand that members agree to this statement
of faith for the purpose of joining. It is here to let you
know what we believe, not to tell you or anyone else what

Known issues:
- FunWebProducts and PeoplePal
are SpyWare programs that cause problems with MatchWise mail.
If you have installed them (SpyWare programs reveal private information
to others), make sure they are removed before using MatchWise.
- Older internet browsers are
not compatible with MatchWise.
You should upgrade your browser to the current version of Internet
Explorer (7.0) or Mozilla Firefox 2.0 (or the latest version of AOL or
other hosted internet services).
- Windows ME, 95 and
older Windows operating system versions may
not work properly with MatchWise.
- Earthlink and other "web accelerators"
may
not work properly with the security codes when registering.
Use of a web accelerator may need to be shut off during
registration.
- Graphic Caching: Photos
(including your own) and some other sections of the MatchWise website
are cached by your browser and will not appear to update until
you clear your cache or "hard refresh" (CTRL
F5). Caching improves
loading speed since it grabs the files from your own computer
versus over the internet, but those files are older.
To change your cache setting to its proper level, go to: TOOLS ›
INTERNET OPTIONS ›
SETTINGS › CHECK
FOR NEWER VERSIONS ›
(Click) "AUTOMATICALLY." Then click “OK” and
on the remaining page click “Delete Temporary Files” to
remove the current cache.
